JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director of Nursing, RN, for skilled and long-term care is responsible for:
  • Overall supervision of nursing care and interventions for the residents.
  • Supervision of all licensed or certified medical personnel, which includes monitoring staff providing services.
  • Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Nurse Practice Act and Oklahoma Department of Health regulations.
  • Demonstrating "Resident First Care" at all times.
  • Serving in a leadership role for team members.
  • Developing, maintaining, and continuously upgrading standards for nursing care practice.
  • Creating and maintaining the staffing schedule, assigning duties, evaluating work and approving work schedules for all nursing personnel.
  • Participating in "on-call" rotation.
  • Ensuring new resident assessments and comprehensive assessments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Developing a plan of care for each resident in accordance with state and federal regulation
  • Reporting changes in condition of resident to the Director of Nursing.
  • Participating as needed in the interview process for prospective residents and performs a functional assessment of prospective residents using appropriate assessment tools.

QUALIFICATIONS for success:
  • Fluent in the English language.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Compassionate and understanding when working with older adults, their families, physicians, and others.
  • Maintains professional appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Cooperative approach to care.
  • Valid Oklahoma Nursing License in good standing; Associate in Nursing or BSN.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; management experience desirable.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
